Many Unity developers were concerned with the fact that previous version of the SDK redirected users to the web-browser window to purchase in-game currency. Xsolla Unity SDK 1.1 provides a much smoother flow: the virtual currency store opens in game, without forwarding the user to a separate browser window. The choice of the virtual currency package and the payment system also takes in-game. The actual payment process is enabled in-game for certain payment methods as well.
Xsolla had a great time at Gamescom 2014 talking with Chinese publishers and developers. Our company had a chance to talk with a number of companies from the region, who are looking for new opportunities and markets in the West. Our meeting with Elvina Cui from Oasis Games was especially interesting. We’ve discussed the peculiarities of game localization and game marketing in non-English speaking countries, touched on Steam and the popularity of mobile products.
During Gamescom 2014 Xsolla had a chat with 37.com. We’ve discussed the current strategy of the Chinese company at the western markets, talked about the most efficient ways of marketing, monetizing games and discussed the prospects of browser games in Europe and Turkey.
