Xsolla talked with Tristan Moore – one of the developers of an interesting horror game Grave – the main competitor at the Independent Game Festival (IGF) 2015. Tristan told us about this new project and explained what tools help his team build this scary open-world adventure.
Xsolla had a chance to talk with Forrest Dowling – one of the developers of The Flame in the Flood – a cool new game that gathered over $200k on Kickstarter. Forrest is no newcomer to games. He served as a lead level designer for Bioshock: Infinite. His new game, based on Unreal Engine 3, serves as a great example of an incredibly talented and original project produced by a small and talented team.
Xsolla had a talk with developers of a small game Bravada. Ivan Taranenko from the Ukrainian company Interbellum told about the quest to Steam, their work with Greenlight and the difficulties of working with Kickstarter for Ukrainian companies.
Xsolla had a chance to talk with Michael Legg – president and co-founder of Petroglyph. This is one of the most important studios for the RTS genre. Formed by former Westwood employers this company works on a new RTS game Grey Goo, that takes classical Command & Conquer gameplay on a whole new level. Michael told us about the development process and explained the advantages of middleware solutions.
Xsolla had a chance to talk with a very friendly indie-game studio Halfbus. This small company is working hard on its upcoming strategy title Basement. Xsolla had a great time at Gamescom 2014 talking with Chinese publishers and developers. Our company had a chance to talk with a number of companies from the region, who are looking for new opportunities and markets in the West. Our meeting with Elvina Cui from Oasis Games was especially interesting. We’ve discussed the peculiarities of game localization and game marketing in non-English speaking countries, touched on Steam and the popularity of mobile products.
