AfreecaTV is the most famous P2P technology-based video streaming service in Korea. The site mainly re-transmits TV channels, but also allows users to upload their own videos and shows through their PC and mobile. Since the launch of Afreeca TV in 2006, they have accumulated more than 12 million members and over 3.5 million viewers use Afreeca TV daily. As a self-media platform, this is a system that anyone can use to broadcast simply using their webcam, covering various topics and functions such as broadcasting, viewing, channel listing, live chatting, and discussion boards. Independent broadcasters called Broadcasting Jockeys deliver live broadcasts to viewers, who can add them to their list of favorite channels using an Afreeca Player tool. Some channels have tens of thousands of viewers at any given time. Paid services such as quick views or channel relays allow the Broadcasting Jockeys to gain an additional source of revenue.
Many Unity developers were concerned with the fact that previous version of the SDK redirected users to the web-browser window to purchase in-game currency. Xsolla Unity SDK 1.1 provides a much smoother flow: the virtual currency store opens in game, without forwarding the user to a separate browser window. The choice of the virtual currency package and the payment system also takes in-game. The actual payment process is enabled in-game for certain payment methods as well.
Xsolla provides our partners with custom solutions no matter the size or status of the company. We work exclusively with custom integrations, deciding not to provide box solutions in order to cater our services specifically to each partner as we see each account as being unique. Box solutions also leave potential pitfalls uncovered which may jeopardize the integration process and we feel much more confident customizing each aspect per client.
